Volunteering

We've all heard that when parents volunteer at school, students do better. Volunteering at The Child's Primary School is a terrific way for parents to bridge the family and school experiences. We welcome the time and talents of parents and find it makes our school a richer place.

The Parent Group's (TPG) volunteer program meets a variety of school needs and leverages the wide range of interests and talents held by our parents. TPG parents log in an excess of 2500 volunteer hours per year for services, programs and fundraisers.

We ask each family at TCPS to donate 20 hours per school year to this important and valuable school support system. For those parents who find it difficult to volunteer the 20 hours, we ask you to donate cash in lieu of time. The suggested rate is $10.00 an hour.

TPG has created a central area in the school office for people to sign in when volunteering. At the beginning of each school year, TPG further provides each family with a timecard to help track volunteer hours per family.

We're thankful for all our parents do each year, from improving our classrooms to performing at our arts programs to running our optional lunch program. No task is too small. We appreciate them all.
