Buenos días,
I hope everyone is having a great summer! Speaking another language has many benefits for children and adults alike. Practicing with your children at home will help them retain the information they have learned over the school year, learn new vocabulary, and keep them interested in Español!
Browse through the website listed below with your children to explore new words, verbs conjugations, sing songs, play games, and find new ways to incorporate Spanish into your daily lives. You may even learn a thing or two yourself!
¡Hasta luego!

We encourage Spanish at home by letting the kids watch DVDs in Spanish. They can watch 1 DVD/wk in English– anything else is in Spanish– plus, we don’t get any TV channels at our house– so it’s Spanish or nothing… Any ideas for getting the kids to actually SPEAK in Spanish? You’d think the fact that they could talk behind my back while standing right in front of me would be incentive enough– but this hasn’t worked yet….
I’m wondering which Spanish DVDs you have, Kerstin. We have a similar TV situation at our house.
Many English DVDs also have tracks with Spanish on them. At the main menu select “settings” or “audio settings” and then choose “language” and it will list the choices.
Good Luck!
Of course! Thanks for the suggestion!
