From the Science Lab

Monday, June 29th, 2009

The TCPS science lab is designed so that the students experience science through hands-on activities, discussions, and investigations.  Students frequently work in collaborative lab groups and enjoy science because…

“The lab tables and chairs are so cool!” – Sasha, gr. 1

“We actually get to see what were learning about, not just hear about it.” – Katrina, gr. 3

“The experiments are always so fun! It’s cool to see something that you never thought could happen.” – Summer, gr. 3

“When we have hands-on activities, we get more of an understanding of the subject.” – Nathan, gr. 6

“Rather than having the teachers teach us the information, we get to learn by doing experiments.” – Alexis, gr. 7

It is great to see the student’s get excited about learning!  Incorporating labs and experiments into the curriculum not only educates students, but creates an engaging atmosphere that allows them to really grasp the idea and learn firsthand what science is all about.
