
Renaissance Instruments
Grades 6 and 7 had a visitor from the Renaissance period. Since the students are studying Shakespeare plays, it seemed fitting to listen to music on instruments of that period. Some strange duck-like sounds coming from krummhorns (curved wooden horns) elicited giggles .

Look what he’s using for a pick! And, notice the HUGE recorder leaning against the wall! It actually makes some beautiful sounds. Mr. Flora demonstrated it and all of the other instruments you see above.
