My class loves creative writing! One activity they particularly enjoy is writing a short continuation of a “story starter”. I have been delighted with the interesting directions they take the story. I wrote the first story starter- “I sat straight up in bed, awakened suddenly by the knock at the door. It was 2:13…” Then, one of the seventh graders came up with the next one- “ I woke in the hospital- lights flickering, and no one else was there. As I got out of the room, I saw that the hall was ravaged, and at the end of the hall I saw…”
So, it’s your turn…does anyone have an intriguing start of a story?
When I stepped into the elevator, I knew somthing was wrong. I ran to the door but it shut too early. I smashed into the door and the lights started spinning.
