Application Process
We are currently accepting applications for our elementary (K-5) and middle school (6-8) programs for the 2010-2011 school year on a space-available basis. Please call (858) 576-2120 to speak with our admissions staff regarding specific grade level openings.
The Child's Primary School values diversity in its students, faculty, and staff. TCPS does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, creed, or national origin in the administration of its admission, financial aid, or employment determination.
The following outlines the steps of our application process:
1. Schedule a tour
You may schedule a tour by contacting us at (858) 576-2120 or completing the online form: Schedule a Tour. During the tour you will have the opportunity to ask questions, meet the Principals or Executive Director, visit the classrooms, and hear what makes TCPS one of San Diego's best private schools. At the conclusion of the tour you will receive an application packet. You may also download the packet below.
2. Complete the application packet.
The application packet contains:
- A $100 non-refundable application fee is required to begin the evaluation and assessment process.
- Parents must sign and return the Records Release Form and the Permission to Evaluate Form
- Parents complete the Application Form for each student you wish to be considered
- Parents must provide the students current teacher with the Teacher Recommendation Form. This form is to be completed by the students teacher(s) and returned directly to TCPS.

3. Schedule an evaluation
Once all materials are complete and we have received your $100 non-refundable application fee, we will schedule a time for your child to meet with one of our Principals for the evaluation. The goal of this 45 minute evaluation is to begin to get to know your child. Part of the evaluation is an academic assessment.
4. Receive written notification
One all documents have been returned to TCPS and all evaluations and assessments are completed, parents will receive written notification of a decision regarding placement at TCPS. It is expected that this process will take a minimum of two weeks.
