Teachers at many schools feel that their principals are not in touch with the realities of the classroom, and that decisions are based on theory, not experience with children. Not at TCPS.

Our administration stays close to day-to-day events in the classroom as founding Executive Directors Maggie Price and Sherry Risch are classroom teachers, too. Their dual roles strengthen the effectiveness of the TCPS staff as educators.

By splitting their time between the classroom and administrative work, they provide direction, consistency, and their expertise to both staff and students. While Price leads the Kindergarten and Risch the Grade Seven and Eight classroom, both women have full-time teaching partners.

The duo's love of teaching is what inspired them to found The Child's Primary School, and it continues to excite and energize them more than twenty years later.
