Mission Statement:
The Child's Primary School was founded in 1983 based on the principles of value and respect for the individual uniqueness of each child. We believe that learning is promoted in an environment that supports each child within a community that includes family, school and all those who influence the life of a child.
The educational philosophy of The Child's Primary School is grounded in the richness of individual diversity and respect for all people. Learning is understood to be an exciting and lifelong process and to include all aspects of the whole child: physical, emotional, social and intellectual. We promote a safe environment where trying is valued over always being right... where positive self-esteem is fostered... and where the curiosity and quest for learning of all persons - including children, family, faculty and staff - are encouraged, supported, and challenged.
Vision Statement:
The Child's Primary School is a K-8 school that encourages a joy of learning and the development of independent lifelong learners. Students are actively engaged in their learning process; they are taught to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. The supportive and creative educational environment coupled with the partnership of students, faculty and parents fosters student success. The strong bond between teacher and student, combined with quality innovative instruction encourages safe risk-taking and promotes academic excellence.
The Child's Primary School recognizes the importance of responsibility, accountability, balance and respect as keys for success throughout life. TCPS is a unique community where the wonder and joy in learning are treasured.
