Greg Heinzinger
President
Greg joined the board in Nov 2007 and was elected President in June 2008. He brings experience in technology development, business planning/leadership, and non-profit board experience. Greg is a Sr. Vice President with Qualcomm's Technology Licensing division and has held senior leadership positions in a number of Qualcomm's emerging businesses. He has a PhD from University of California at Berkeley, where he also did his undergraduate studies. He also serves on the ICSI board, CITRIS advisory board, UC Berkeley Engineering Advisory board, and his local planning board. Greg lives in San Diego with his wife Kerstin and has two children that attend TCPS.
Sherry Risch
Founder
Sherry is not only one of the founders of TCPS, but also one of the principals and the middle school Language Arts Teacher. Sherry has a B.S. in Special Education, as well as Elementary Education from Miami University, Oxford Ohio. She also served on the Committee for Primary Assessment and Curriculum Development in Ohio. Sherry is the founding board member of Women's Empowerment International, whose mission is to provide microcredit loans to women living in poverty.
Ajay Gupta
Secretary
Ajay joined the board in 2006, coming to us with a background in General Business Management and Marketing. He is currently heading a startup in the High Technology area. Before creating the startup, he was a Vice President and General Manager at Gateway Computers, and held various senior leadership positions during his 12 years at Gateway. Ajay has degrees in Engineering, Marketing, and an MBA. Ajay also serves on the board of the Silver Bow Art Museum in Montana. Ajay and his wife Jenny have two children that both attend TCPS.
Peter Springall
Peter Springall is the founder and former Director of Springall Academy, a private special education program serving the greater San Diego area since 1972. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and has had an association with TCPS since its inception. He is currently a consultant to the Osteopathic Center for Children, San Diego, where he works with developmental disabled children.
Susan Howard
Susan joined the board in January 2011. Her twenty plus
years of teaching and administrative experience at TCPS make it possible for
her to offer a detailed, historic, and unique perspective of the school and its
development over the years. Now semi-retired, Susan has recently completed
certification as a Special Education Advocate as well as her certification in
community mediation. Additionally, she has experience as a facilitator with

Carol Rainey
After working for 27 years as a teacher and administrator in New York City's school system, Carol Rainey "retired" and moved to San Diego to be a full-time grandma. Carol holds a BA & MS degree in Education with a specialization in reading as well an MS, P.D. in Education Administration and Supervision. She served as a 3rd grade teacher, reading specialist, coordinator in Special Education programs, and an Elementary School Assistant Principal in New York City. Here in San Diego she came out of retirement to serve as Principal of a K-8 private school for 4 years. She continues to be an active volunteer in the greater San Diego community through several organizations, her church, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir. She enjoys dabbling in photography and going to the theater and is very devoted to her 6 grandchildren (3 in San Diego - TCPS students/alums and 3 in Maryland). She is an ardent supporter of TCPS and is looking forward to serving on the Board of Directors.
